Wow, what an event! Two weeks of answering your questions and chatting to you certainly did send my head spinning, in a good way. Thank you to all those that voted. I am very proud to have won, although at first I couldn’t quite believe it. The prize money will be put towards refurbishing a demonstration rig that can be taken out to STEM events… Coming to an event near you perhaps… I’ve never taken part in an event like this before so in the run up I did get worried about what I had let myself in for! As it turns out I needn’t have worried, the moderators kept everything moving smoothly, the other engineers — Cathy, Jaz, Roma, and Rory — provided a fantastic insight into their jobs and you, the students asking all sorts of things. All the students that took part, you really made this event … Continue reading

We’ve counted, checked and rechecked the votes and now reveal it’s game over for… Rory Hadden This leaves “Organised, dancing-obsessed, engineer” Roma, “Extravagant, Honest, Obsessive” Mark, and “Involved, caring, happy” Cathy to fight it out for the £500 prize tomorrow. Who would you like to see win tomorrow’s final battle? VOTE NOW! We’re also opening your live chat tomorrow between 12pm – 3pm. We’ve counted the votes and you’ve evicted… Jaz Rabadia The three engineers left standing after tomorrow’s eviction will battle it out in Friday’s final. Who do YOU want to see in the final? VOTE for your favourite! Students, has taking part changed your view of engineering and engineers? When you next log in and visit your profile, you’ll see a box with 3 questions on the right. Fill in the questionnaire to be in with a chance to win a £20 WH Smith voucher. We hope you’ll spend it all on books and essential school equipment, but we understand how difficult it will be to pass the pick’n’mix section..
There will be no eviction today in the Cities Zone as we have a two way tie! That means the first engineer will be evicted tomorrow, and another every day this week! You get a new vote each day so make sure to VOTE to keep your favourite engineer in the competition. A student in each zone will win a £20 WH Smith voucher for asking great questions (questions that aren’t about One Direction). And remember, you can comment on questions the engineers answer. Do you think the engineer is right? Do you disagree with them? Tell them!
