      Hi Rach

Places like hospitals, schools and offices may have backup generators – power supplies that will keep key things on when you have a power cut. For a Country wide powercut though these won’t last forever so it’s really important to get power stations running to supply our electricity needs. It’d be too expensive to have emergency power stations – so some of the ones we have in the UK will be able to start up with no electricity supplies from the network.
