I think that it would be possible now to an extent. Modern nuclear submarines use some neat technology to provide oxygen, electricity and water.
The big challenges would be keeping the water out and disposing of the waste if we built an underwater city…another 50 years perhaps???

I think we probably could – as Mark says, we’d have an issue with waste and keeping the water out – but nothing that engineers can’t solve 😉

Underwater is interesting – if you think of recent underwater searches and the technology used there it’s not always the most straightforward environment to operate in!

I want to live underwater!! Whenever people ask me what I see in future cities, I say, let’s live underwater!

I expect its quite a lot more expensive to construct those but it’s possible 🙂 I’ll be the first buyer of the underwater house 🙂

Great question. Saw this in the chat today – sorry we didn’t have time to answer!

The others have nailed it. One advantage would be that we could easily extinguish fires that started as there is plenty of water around! Would you like to live underwater? What would you enjoy most?

I’ve always wanted to live underwater since watching finding nemo 🙂 I think one day we will not have enough land for all the population and so we will have to look at the sea or outer space to live
