      Hello,

For my job I design systems that use machines. As a design engineer I’m very much office based, I go to sites to test machines (like pumps) and carry out condition surveys.

In the office I use computers and modelling systems.
When I’m out and about I’m working with substation equipment and huge power stations – so yes!

I use a computer. I don’t build machines, I do buildings and bridges, so not all engineering is about machines!

I use computers too – to look at all the energy data for all 170 stores ( a pretty big spreadsheet).

Also i speak to companies about what machinery and equipment they can provide to help save energy.

      i dont use them myself

I used to use some pretty special machines in the laboratory. These were designed to test how things burn during fires. I don’t get as much tim as I want to use them these days which is a little bit sad because I used to really enjoy it.
