No. When I was younger I wanted to be a train driver! But since I was at secondary school I knew I would enjoy engineering because it is a great combination of all the subjects I loved.

      Hi Chris

When i was younger i didn’t even know there were such things as energy engineers. It was only when i started to my job that i realised how much i loved it..

I never saw myself working with sewage. I wanted to be working with cars and engines…one day I may try and re-train and get into the automotive sector.

No- I have wanted to be an astronaut, architect, pilot and various other things. I decided I wanted to be an engineer when I was 20.

I always wanted to do engineering – but didn’t know in what job.
In my last year of uni I looked at various companies – and went with National Grid because I liked the information about the company and they seemed a welcoming and fair employer.
8 years on and I’m very glad I made that choice!
