• Question: In society in general taking in account all disciplines how does engineering rank among the others.

      I think engineering is TOP because we make every single thing in the world that makes our lives possible and comfortable. Medicines, clothes, ready made food, transport, homes, nothing would exist without us.

      Absolutely must agree with Roma – There would be very little for society to live off if there were no engineers – it would be like going back in time to live like cave men ( but even they used engineering to survive!!)

      I agree with Roma, engineering is top and should be at the very top of the tree! I don’t think engineering is recognised enough in society though.

      In my opinion engineering is sometimes underappreciated. It’s sad because as the others say engineering is everywhere and responsible for making our lives so much easier!

      Having said that, there is a lot of respect for engineers from members of society.

      I’d definitely put it in my top 3 – it’d have to battle it out between medicine and law I think!
