Energy is always re-used – it can’t be destroyed or created.

But it changes from different types of energy so it’s not always the same. Electrical energy changes to heat and light energy – so you can’t store electricity in large amounts! What you can do is to store the energy in another way to use to make electricity – for example hydro power stations pump water to a high lake (so that’s potential energy there) and then when they need electricity they open a valve so the water flows down a hill, and turns a turbine – and makes electricity!
