      Hi Chris,

The most boring thing in my job is having to review Asset Standards and Specifications.
We use standards and specifications to make sure our Contractors (builders) build and supply the right things. Every couple of years these standards need updating to make sure they are still fit for purpose – we have over 150 of these documents, some of which are 50 pages long!

I find sitting behind my computer screen pretty boring. I much prefer going out to visit Debenhmas stores, speak to colleagues and travel 🙂
The great thing about engineering is there is lots of opportunity to travel

I don’t like writing very much, so I find writing reports on our work for our clients boring sometimes. Luckily I have lots more design than writing to do!

Probably the bit I struggle with the most is running simulations on electricity networks – it can be quite a long process and you have to be very clear at the start what you are looking at – otherwise you may have to repeat things!
Having said that – designing the simulation, and finding that your results are what you thought – is a great feeling and well worth the time!

      HI Chris,

The most boring thing I have to do is the administration and filling out forms for my different projects. This is essential to make sure things run smoothly but I’d much rather be solving new problems!
