In my line of work, creativity and perseverance are most important. The research I do means that no one has solved the problems before so we have to try many different ideas before we hit on the right solution. This is a lot of fun because I get to explore new opportunities all the time!

For me the most important thing is providing the right engineering solution for the job. Ultimately it is the water bill payers that fund my work so I need to give them value for money.

I would say the most important thing for me is making sure Debenhams stores all have power so they can stay open and making sure energy costs are kept down.

I think it’s creativity. It’s making sure that we think of new ways to solve new problems!

For me it’s making sure I keep people informed of my progress, and anything that might change deadlines.
Lots of people in several different companies rely on information that I produce – so I need to make sure I do everything to time – or let them know if there are challenges to make this and when they can expect things!
