Working alongside the Electricity National Control Centre – the engineers who balance the generation and electricity demand on a second by second basis (currently working hard during the World Cup!). These engineers work on a 24/7 basis (but on shift, so not the same person the whole time!) to make sure when we flip a lightswitch it’s all there!

Standing on top of the Shard, hands down! Loved that it was safe and standing up at least partly because of me 🙂

      Excitement…interesting question.

I think for me it’s getting to see my projects built and optimised, then when I’m out and about it’s great to drive past and think ‘I did that’.

It’s been exciting when i have been given lots of money to spend on energy projects. Working for Debenhams there are lots of people asking for money to spend on new fashion lines, new advertisements and even new stores. So getting money to spend on energy means that what i do is just as important as selling more clothes and getting more customers 🙂

I work in a university – one of the best parts is meeting all the new students and working with them on interesting projects and inventing new ideas. It’s what gets me out of bed in the morning!!
