Making sure that all the teams and people I speak to really understand what we’re talking about!
Engineers tend to have different meanings or interpretations of words – it makes complete sense to them and their team, but their understanding may be slightly different to a different team or company.
It’s so important that in a power outage we all know who is doing what and I’m constantly asking people to be specific in what they mean!

For me now, it’s managing my time. I’m working on 4 projects and other things as well, so keeping organised and making sure I’m in the right place at the right time can be a challenge sometimes!

I’m the same as Roma on this one, time management!

I think, at the moment, I have 11 projects spread over 16 sites, a £36,000,000 contract to advise on, a research steering group to attend and several other bits and bobs floating around.

Sometimes just keeping up with emails can be a challenge!

Mine is that i work for a big fashion retailer and i am the only person in the energy team. Its alot for one person to do – So I am writing a business case to help grow my team. If there are two of me we can save twice as much energy 🙂

I spend a lot of time speaking to people who don’t have an engineering background. This means I am constantly trying to find new ways to explain things in an engaging way. It’s hard but it is also really rewarding when you can share ideas with lots of different people!
