• Question: why did you decide to become a Doctor of Philosophy

      That is a great question.

      I never decided to become a Doctor of Philosophy – it is a strange way that the university works. Anyone who does a research degree over about 3 years get this degree for any subject that they study. I spent three years looking at how different substances burn so I know a lot about that but I do not know anything about Philosophy!!
