  I’m no expert in this area but I don’t think we’d run out of water.
  We might run out of clean, usable water though – and that’s why work like Mark does is so important!

  That’s a very good question!
  
  The short answer is no, but how we produce drinking water may need to change. There is a constant pressure on our traditional water sources to the point that some will be closed in the not to distant future. For instance we will not be able to use Ennerdale for drinking water because of a group of Pearl Mussels.
  If we can’t use our traditional sources we need to find different water sources. We can always turn to treating sea water but that is extremely expensive or, we could look to treating sewage for drinking water…ever fancied drinking recycled sewage?
  
  This is a very hard question to answer without going into too much detail. If you do want to know more about the issues please let me know.

  we will run out of water in some places. and transporting that water is the most difficult… i know you wouldnt believe it but some places in the UK suffer lots from drought. (its not just in the hot and developing countries where we have water shortages)

  I agree with mark, clean water that can be used for drinking will get harder to produce.
  Even today around 500,000 children die every year from unsafe water and poor sanitation.. That’s over 1,400 children a day.
  
  so in someways i think we have run out of clean, safe, water
  already!
